Georgetown Art Attack

May 9, 2020

Art saves lives, so does social distancing.

Art has the ability to engage pieces of our souls, help us to heal and unite communities. From the colorful murals protecting our small businesses, to online music classes, concerts, and performances, we need art now more than ever to in our lives. The Georgetown industrial arts district is home to an amazing array of contemporary, fine, and handmade arts by local, national, and international artists whose works are available on line for viewing & sale. Purchasing art a great way to show your support for all aspects of art and the people that work hard to enrich our lives through it. Gallery website links can be found below.

We present a working studio and presentation space in Art Attack with Dari Stolzoff, Ferrell, and Ramona Bell. We offer our style of abstract with warm, vibrant use of color sure to please all. Also don’t miss Luscious Leopard Lips, our talented D.J. with a Theremin, playing atmospheric music in the background.

The Terror starring Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson
Dementia 13

Make some popcorn and join in the fun! May’s pick of 16mm film archive is a drive-in double feature from 1963 each set in creepy haunted places produced or directed by Z-Movie Godfather Roger Corman! These films may not be ideal for some younger audience members.

First on the double bill, Corman directs a very young Jack Nicholson matching wits with ghosts, witches and a tormented Boris Karloff in a creepy haunted castle in THE TERROR. The second show features Francis Ford Coppola's (APOCALYPSE NOW & THE GODFATHER TRILOGY) directorial debut set in a creepy English haunted mansion DEMENTIA 13.

This month’s animated offerings include two terrific shorts from the National Film Board of Canada and a late 60’s vintage Saturday morning cartoon!

Side Rail Collective & Temple Goods

During the month of May Side Rail Collective will be sharing images taken in and around Georgetown on Instagram @siderailcollective; reflecting the changes that have happened to our community due to COVID-19. Also highlighted at Side Rail Collective are members Sarah Butterfield, Owner/Creative Director of Buttermylk Creative Studio, and Melissa Messer. Sarah most recently worked on a project for the Seattle Hospitality Emergency Fund to help design a digital cocktail book to raise funds for those in the local bar and restaurant community. Melissa volunteered some time to working on the website for, a site made to put masks in the hands of people that need them the most.

Unsettled Waters: Heather Wilcoxon A sense of quest imbues Wilcoxon’s abstract works. Her mixed media pieces confront the viewer with seemingly recognizable objects made of thick lines in abstract color fields. Interactions among these elements take us on an exciting voyage to explore the inner workings of perception, beyond what seems apparent at first sight.

Equinox Studios

A growing arts community in sunny West Georgetown, home to over 100 artists working in an inspiring array of mediums, including dance, blacksmithing, welding, woodworking, cycle fabrication, sculpture, painting, film, glass and art performances monthly. Please check web page for individual studio gallery listings.

Also due to extension of the Stay at Home order, while we will promote each studio, gallery and business' online submissions, Art Attack does not condone gathering of any sort for health & safety reasons.
